Pro - Am
Pro-Am is one of the newer categories that has only recently become popular in Croatia. In America and Asia, Pro-Am is already widely known and numerous category, and it slowly came to Europe about 10 years ago, but in the last two years the number of Pro-Am pairs is on the rise.
European countries leading the Pro-Am system are Russia, England, Austria, Poland, Italy, Israel, Norway, Finland, Germany, Kazakhstan, Lithuania and Latvia.
Pro–am (or pro/am, pro am, ProAm; a contraction of professional–amateur) is a mix of professional and amateur competition within a partnership, or collaboration between professionals and amateurs in a scientific discipline.
In dance, pro–am provides an opportunity for an amateur to take part in competitions with a professional partner. In this case, the teacher is usually also the dance partner. All of the most relevant international dance associations offer pro–am competitions as parts of their international events.
Pro-am couples can engage in a variety of dance styles, from Latin American and standard to smooth, rhythm, showdance, exhibition and theater arts dance styles.
In Croatia, the Pro-Am competition system was introduced in 2017, and from 2018 the REGISTER of Pro-Am couples / individuals and the COMPETITION CALENDAR.
In order for couples to become members of the Pro-Am system, they must be members of the Registry.
